Toronto Blue Jays reliever Tyler Rogers offered a glimpse of what American League hitters could be dealing with this season after a clutch outing for Team USA.
Though addition to the roster came somewhat unexpectedly, Tyler Rogers made the most of the opportunity during his time with Team USA.
The Toronto Blue Jays' newest bullpen arm was called upon in a key moment during the semifinal matchup against the Dominican Republic.
Rogers was summoned with the Americans trying to escape a dangerous situation in the middle innings.
Three Toronto players took part in the Sunday night contest. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helped spark the Dominican offense with a sharp double, while Rogers delivered one of the game's most important pitching moments for the United States.
116 MPH off Vladdy's bat 😳💥
With two runners on base and one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, Rogers entered the game tasked with shutting down the rally. Standing in his way was one of baseball's most feared hitters, Juan Soto.
Rogers opened the at-bat with an 81.8-mph sinker that missed well outside the strike zone.
He followed it up by spotting another sinker on the corner, inducing Soto to roll over the pitch and ground into an inning-ending double play.

Team USA bullpen dominated Dominican parade of MLB All-Stars
It was one of several key moments where Team USA's pitching staff halted potential Dominican rallies during what proved to be a frustrating offensive night for the Caribbean squad.
The Dominican Republic finished just 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners stranded.
Despite the missed opportunities, they still had a chance to tie the game late before ultimately falling 2-1 and being eliminated from the tournament.
The United States now advances to the championship game, where it will face the winner of Monday night's semifinal between Venezuela and Italy.
Team USA will be chasing its second World Baseball Classic title and its first since 2017, while both Venezuela and Italy are still seeking their first championship.
As for Rogers, the right-hander has been sharp this spring.
Through seven appearances in spring training, he has struck out seven batters without issuing a walk while posting a 3.86 ERA.
