Toronto Blue Jays number one prospect Trey Yesavage looked like he'd been pitching for the club all season long in his much anticipated MLB debut on Monday.
Yesavage struck out nine batters over five innings of work against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday to break the Blue Jays franchise record for most strikeouts in an MLB debut.
He struck out five Rays batters in a row at one point during the game, including striking out the side in the fourth inning.

Trey Yesavage's eye popping minor league statistics translate well in the big leagues
The 22-year-old right-hander, allowed one run, three hits and two walks, throwing 49 of 69 pitches for strikes.
His 52.8 per cent whiff rate on Monday was the highest by any Blue Jays starting pitcher (debut or otherwise) since tracking began in 2009.
It was also the highest by any MLB starting pitcher in a big league debut (both stats with a minimum of 60 pitches).
Trey Yesavage's swing & miss rate on Monday night exceeded that of several other notable MLB debuts
There is no debating that Yesavage showed October-calibre stuff that merits more looks to determine how it best fits a post-season roster.
«It was as special as I thought,» Yesavage said of making his debut. «It almost felt like there's some sort of trance put over me with, like a feeling of peace out there, just enjoying every moment of it.»
