Toronto Blue Jays unveil new Canada Day baseball cap

In just over three weeks, the Jays will host the New York Yankees in a Canada Day matchup, with the game scheduled to take place at 3:07 p.m. on July 1 at the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto.

On Monday, the Jays unveiled the hats that they'll be wearing for the game when they take on one of their biggest rivals.

This year's edition features a light blue base with a red and white logo, complete with a red bill.

One addition that's a first in MLB circles is the rope across the bill of the hat, mixing in a classic golf style that has regained popularity in recent years.

As is tradition, the Jays are typically one of the first MLB teams to debut their specialty hats on July 1, with the American teams showing them off three days later on the Fourth of July festivities. For the 29 other teams, it's branded as part of the «Stars and Stripes» collection.

It's much improved on the infamous 2022 edition of the hat, where the Blue Jays had an American flag emblazoned over their team logo.

There's the classic 59Fifty fitted style, which is the one actual players will wear on the field, but there's also a plethora of adjustable options.

They won't be cheap, though, with the official on-field version of the hat retailing for $77.99 CAD.

If you're looking to check out the hat in action, there's also a timely promotion set up for spectators that day, as a free Vladimir Guerrero Jr. red replica jersey will be given away to the first 15,000 fans upon entrance.

Ticketmaster is already showing an almost completely sold-out crowd for the contest, with only a few standing-room tickets still available.
