When the Toronto Blue Jays were entering sell mode last July, Yimi Garcia saw the writing on the wall. The much-loved reliever had a pretty good idea he would be traded.
He also had a pretty good idea that he would be back.
In December, the second part came true, with Garcia returning to Toronto on a two-year deal.
The love between Garcia and the city was mutual, and the pitcher had always wanted to come back.
Now, Garcia is getting to play alongside the players he was traded for just seven months ago: Jonatan Clase and Jacob Sharp.
While he could see time in the majors this year, he likely begins the season in Triple-A Buffalo.
Sharp, a catcher, is in camp as a non-roster invitee. The 23-year old is still a couple years away from the majors, having reached High-A Vancouver last year.
There is also a possibility that he switches positions down the road. He has also played some outfield and is athletic enough to move around the diamond.
