How bad are things going for the Toronto Blue Jays right now?

If the Toronto Blue Jays lose against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at Rogers Centre, they will be sorry owners of their longest losing streak since 2024.
That’s right, the reeling American League champs, who so far more closely resemble the last-place team that preceded them, are doing their best to believe that a 10-game sample size is meaningless.
The U.S. media seems to think the Blue Jays should be panicked with the unprecedented amount of injuries they have through their first ten games.
MLB Now host Brian Kenny asked The New York Post's Joel Sherman what his level of concern was with the Blue Jays five game skid, and the amount of injuries they have already so early in the season.
"I'm a little panicked" Sherman said, just because their success is layered around their rotation. I'm not positive what they get back from these guys. Berrios had some arm injuries and wasn't that great last year. Bieber kind of like had to shut it down after going through the postseason last year. Scherzer is the second oldest player in the major leagues behind only Justin Verlander. Now tendinitis, he won't be able to make it through a whole season. Ponce might need knee surgery, and we didn't even know what we'd get out of him anyway. They have Yesavage coming back, and if you have him Gausman and Cease go round and round that feels a lot better filling in a 4 and 5 here and there, but man that is a lot of starting pitching injuries to start the season."
Kenny then turned his attention to former big league player and MLB Network insider Cliff Floyd on what he thought about the Blue Jays woes so far this season.
"I'm panicked, because when I left camp I thought this team would give the Yankees a run for their money. What are you supposed to do when you have this many injuries? It's tough, a lot of pressure walks through those doors everyday, with expectations for them to win, but you still have to have that nobody is going to cry for you, go out there and play the game, next man up mentality. You don't have Bo Bichette, you are putting guys in positions that you hope are going to be successful. You can't lose this many dudes and not be panicked right now. You have to gets some guys back. Trey will be back but he is still a young dude, you can't put all the pressure on him to go out there and be your savior."

Blue Jays injuries a significant factor in start so far

Two-time All-Star catcher Alejandro Kirk is scheduled for surgery on a fractured and dislocated thumb.
Right-hander Max Scherzer exited Monday's game after just two innings due to forearm tendinitis.
Cody Ponce was placed on the 60-Day IL and is expected to miss substantial time after an ACL sprain in his Toronto debut, while starters Jose Berrios, Yimi Garcia, Shane Bieber, and Patrick Corbin are all scheduled to throw on Tuesday.
Outfielder Addison Barger did not play against the Dodgers because of a bilateral ankle issue, though he has not been placed on the injured list yet.
Meanwhile, Trey Yesavage will make another Single-A rehab start with the Dunedin Blue Jays on Thursday.
