Vladimir Guerrero Jr and manager John Schneider shared their thoughts on how the Toronto Blue Jays can overcome a George Springer IL stint amidst so many injuries.
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer suffered a fractured toe after fouling a ball off his foot during an at-bat, forcing him to leave the game in the fifth inning of Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Twins..
Following the game Sportsnet field reporter Hazel Mae, asked Vladimir Guerrero Jr how he felt the team would be able to overcome such a big loss in Springer to which he replied:
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on how the team can overcome another injury, this time to George Springer:
“It’s baseball, not the NBA where one guy scores 45 points… Everybody in the line up has to do his part.. I'm gonna to go out there and do my job.”

Despite a mountain of injuries, John Schneider's up for the challenge
With Springer being one of many injured Blue Jays, manager John Schneider had a slightly different take than Guerrero, telling Mae that you have to look at it as a challenge.
“we all signed up for this, and it's not going to be easy. And I think if any team knows that, it's us.. we've been through a lot over the past couple years, and you have to take it as a challenge.”
Schneider told Sportsnet's Shi Davidi that everyone has to be able to adjust.
“The minute we start saying woe is me, or woe is us or why us, that's when things can really unravel,” said Schneider. “If you try to map out the course of a six, seven, eight month season, these things are going to happen. It's just really unfortunate and weird that these things happened within the first couple of weeks of the season. But I want the guys to continue to say, 'OK, what can we do now?' This is players, coaches, myself. That's how I'm handling it. Next man up, and OK, what are we going to do now? And if it has to look a little bit different, so be it. You have to be able to adjust.”
The Blue Jays already have nine players on the injured list, including six pitchers. Trey Yesavage (shoulder), Shane Bieber (elbow) and Jose Berrios (elbow) are among the Jays starters still working their way back from injuries.
Injured position players include outfielder Anthony Santander (left shoulder), catcher Alejandro Kirk (left thumb) and outfielder Addison Barger (left ankle).
Blue Jays right-hander Max Scherzer (1-1, 3.38 earned-run average) is scheduled to start the series finale on Sunday afternoon against Twins right-hander Taj Bradley (2-0, 1.08 ERA).
