Whit Merrifield returns to Toronto in a completely new Blue Jays role

Former Blue Jays utility man Whit Merrifield has returned to Toronto in a new role that nobody saw coming post retirement. Merrifield will be joining Lindsay Dunn on a new podcast called 6IX Inning Stretch.
In a heartfelt message on social media Merrifield announced his retirement earlier this week.

News broke online a couple of days after Merrifield announced his retirement that he is returning to Toronto to start a Blue Jays podcast called the 6IX Inning Stretch with Lindsay Dunn which is set to begin on July 2nd.

Merrifield responded to to the 6IX Inning Podcast promo with some humor directed at Dunn.
Did this chick really just dap me up and think she was smooth doing it?
To which Dunn had her own cheeky response.
I was smooth. You just weren't ready for the swag.
In his good-bye note on X, Merrifield thanked the cities he played in: «KC you became a second home to my family and I. Nothing compares to a first love.
Toronto, playing for an entire country was an honour I'll never forget. Philly, I liked you way more than you liked me. Sorry I stunk for you.
And Atlanta, it was the joy of a lifetime to play and end my career for my childhood team. My only baseball regret was never being able to help bring a world championship to any one of the cities I played for.»
