It's 2025 and I thought we were done talking about Trevor Bauer.

Alas, since the Blue Jays failed to land Corbin Burnes, a sizeable community of Bauer fanboys (most of whom are probably incel) with raging hard ons for their man, have called on Ross Atkins to give the erstwhile accused predator a chance.
Thanks, but no thanks.

While he may not have been convicted of the heinous crimes he was accused of, in a court of law, not guilty does not mean innocent. He settled two cases, had his lawsuit against Deadpsin dismissed, and dropped another one against reporter Molly Knight when he knew he wasn't going to win.
Beyond that though, do we not remember Roberto Osuna? The wunderkind who our closer of the future? He slapped his girlfriend, served a 75 game suspension and was promptly shipped to Houston. The only reason he didn't serve jail time, was because he signed a peace bond and his girlfriend didn't want to put her three year old son through the emotional turmoil. If they dumped Osuna, why on earth would they rancid, cancer-causing flesh wound that is Trevor Bauer?
Toronto is a multicultural, relatively progressive city. The same could be said about Blue Jays fans. And that fanbase boasts a ton of women. The Blue Jays and Rogers are smart enough not to go there.
Also, there's Roberto Alomar. One of the greatest ever Blue Jays is now persona non grata and banned from the league. If the franchise rid themselves of all things #12, why on earth would they go near the insipid poison that is Trevor Bauer?
All that noise aside, Trevor Bauer is a massive toolbag. With an ego greater than the sun, Bauer's on-field temper tantrum got him thrown out of Cleveland. There have always been rumblings that he is a bad teammate, with a personality that borders on Jeff Kent levels of misanthropy. When his suspension was lifted, there was almost no support from his Dodger teammates.
That kind of attitude is antithetical to everything the Blue Jays stand for. Say what you will about Ross Atkins, Mark Shapiro, and John Schneider, but they are not blind to the moralistic attitudes of Canadians and have at least tried to create one of the more positive clubhouse environments in the game.
Trevor Bauer doesn't even deserve to sniff the rotting, fetid, decrepit underside of the Gardiner Expressway let alone go anywhere near a Major League Baseball stadium.
So to Bauer and his dinner table of wanna be Alpha-bros, just no. Stop. You can't sit with us.
