Major League Baseball Announces 2025 All-Star Starting Lineups

Major League Baseball announced the starting lineups for the 2025 All-Star Game this evening. The starting lineups are determined by fan vote.
The
Toronto Blue Jays slugger beat out Paul Goldschmidt of the New York Yankees in phase two of fan voting for the American League's starting first baseman at the Midsummer Classic.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. becomes the 3rd player in Blue Jays history to be voted as a 4-time All-Star starter, joining Roberto Alomar & Jose Bautista.
Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk was also nominated as a finalist for a starting spot, but lost out to Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, who leads all of MLB in home runs with 33. Kirk, along with other members of the Blue Jays, will still be eligible to make the All-Star Team as reserves.
Starting pitchers and reserves, which are determined by a combination of player vote and the league office, will be announced on Sunday evening.
Each team will eventually get at least one All-Star. 13 teams had at least one starter.
The Dodgers and Tigers, the respective league leaders were in front with three selections apiece.
The game will be played at Atlanta's Truist Park on July 15.

First base: Freddie Freeman, Dodgers (9th selection)
Second base: Ketel Marte, Diamondbacks (3rd selection)
Third base: Manny Machado, Padres (7th selection)
Shortstop: Francisco Lindor, Mets (5th selection)
Outfield: Ronald Acuna Jr., Braves (5th selection)
Outfield: Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs (1st selection)
Outfield: Kyle Tucker, Cubs (4th selection)
Designated hitter: Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (5th selection)
Guerrero adds his fifth All-Star nod to a trophy case that includes two Silver Sluggers, a Gold Glove, a Home Run Derby title in 2023 and an All-Star Game MVP in 2021.
