The Blue Jays brought in a lot of missing pieces over the off-season but none have brought in any additional offense which is where one of the team's main concerns are.
Angels outfielder is a great fit for the Blue Jays, should Ross Atkins make a move to bring him to Toronto?
During a recent report, Kenneth Teape stated that the Blue Jays could end up being a perfect fit for Ward who will likely be dealt at the deadline since Toronto needs more offense and is also looking for a left outfielder.
On Wednesday, Kenneth Teape of Blue Jays on SI named Los Angeles Angels left fielder Taylor Ward, who has 13 long balls already this season, as a top trade candidate for Toronto in the coming weeks. -Roberts
Ward is a popular name in the rumor mill in the lately, despite owning a batting average under .200, because of the power potential that he provides," -Teape
Since Ward is only set to make $7.8 million in 2026 not only would he be a great fit for Toronto in terms of what they need, but he would also be a great fit when looking at their payroll which is already very high.
Bringing in Ward would allow the Blue Jays to have Anthony Santander permanently as their designated hitter as Ward would be in left field, Daulton Varsho at center and George Springer in right.
The only problem here is that if Toronto decides to move
Santander to DH full time, they seriously need him to improve at the plate since it doesn't make much sense to have your DH not driving in runs.
Whether it is Ward or someone else, the Blue Jays clearly need to add a bat if they want to win a wild card spot since their current roster is not getting it done.
