Josh Towers, who pitched for the
Blue Jays from 2003-2007, is joining the Falcons as their new pitching coach.
Towers had a eight year major league career, suiting up for the
Baltimore Orioles as well as the
New York Yankees. However, it was with Toronto - where he crossed paths with Zaun - that he had his greatest success.
BREAKING. The Kelowna Falcons have added pitching coach Josh Towers to the coaching staff for the 2026 season as new manager Gregg Zaun continues to build his bench coaches.
Towers is a former MLB pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed an eight-year career
In 2005, Towers won 13 games while making 33 starts for the Blue Jays, while doubling his career high in both strikeouts and innings pitched.
However, he was never able to replicate that success and after bouncing around and ending up in the Mexican League and Independent ball, he retired in 2011.
Since calling time on his playing career, Towers has gotten into broadcasting, most notably with the University of Las Vegas baseball team.
Former battery mates reunited
In Kelowna, Towers will reunite with longtime battery mate Zaun; they spent four seasons together on the Blue Jays from 2004-2007.
This will be Towers' first coaching position.
