Toronto Blue Jays centerfielder Daulton Varsho's grand slam may have kickstarted the teams offense at the most important time of the year.

Varsho's grand slam in Thursday night's 6-1 win over the Red Sox was an electric shock to the heart of the Blue Jays, the biggest swing we've seen in a dream season that's spent the past week flirting with nightmares.

A crowd of 42,129 roared, perhaps louder than any other at Rogers Centre this season, the Blue Jays and their fans could finally exhale.
The homer was the outfielder's 20th of the season and his fifth in September, marking the third time in the last four years he's reached the 20-homer mark.
The 29-year-old is up to a .237/.286/.559 slash line with 12 doubles, 55 RBI and 40 runs across 259 plate appearances.

Daulton Varsho shares his thoughts about pressure and what this team needs to do going forward

After the game Varsho was asked what it's like to deal with this kind of pressure at this time of year and he did not disappoint.
"Everybody wants to feel this pressure at the end of the season because that means you're in it,» said Varsho. «And it's one of those things where you either can crumble and fall and not play well, or you can be us, knowing that throughout the season we've played really good baseball and just keep trusting it.»
Varsho isn't the most outspoken player in the clubhouse, but when he speaks, everyone listens.
«We're a really tough team to beat, and we have the pieces to do it.»

In a split-second, with one swing, Varsho did what everyone on this roster has spent the past week trying to do.

«A lot of people didn't pick us to win the division. We exceeded everybody's standards and now everybody's holding us to that, saying we gotta win the division.

Well, screw it, we have house money and let's just keep going.»
Louis Varland, Eric Lauer and Yariel Rodriguez combined to give Toronto its best «start» of the season, coming together to practically demand that this team's offense make something happen.
And when it did happen, Eric Lauer couldn't be more thankful or appreciative, he just admired the home run like everyone else at Rogers Centre.
«Just a fun ball to watch fly out of the park.»

Tonight the Tampa Rays visit Rogers Centre for the final three-game set of the regular season. The Jays plans to start Shane Bieber, then Trey Yesavage and Kevin Gausman over the weekend.
