In an incredible year for the Blue Jays that ended in heartbreak, players are still posting messages of amazement and gratitude to their teammates and fans.
Eric Lauer is no different as he thanked friends, family, teammates and fans for what was a big year for him in Toronto.
2025: a year I will never forget. From the birth of our first child to an incredible World Series run, this year had it all. This season allowed me to fall in love with the game I've loved since I was a kid all over again. All I can say is thank you. To the fans for your unwavering support until the very end. To my teammates for grinding through the ups and downs of the season as brothers. To my friends and family for their continued support and well wishes throughout the season. And finally to my wife for being an absolute rockstar navigating this crazy life with me and our son, making sure he and I were both taken care of in every way.

Eric Lauer proved to be better in 2025 than anyone could've imagined
Now 30 years old, Lauer is a seven-year veteran of the San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers and Blue Jays.
He's gone 45-39 for his career with a 4.13 ERA, making 127 starts in 148 appearances.
This past season, Lauer pitched in a swing role for manager John Schneider, going 9-2 with a 3.18 ERA.
He made 15 starts out of 28 appearances, tossing 104.2 innings in the regular season.
He added five appearances in the postseason, including 5.2 scoreless innings in the World Series.
Considering what Lauer did for the Blue Jays in 2025, it only makes sense that he'll get a raise in 2026.
But even if he is set to double his earnings, it still might end up as one of the best contracts the Blue Jays could have on their payroll in 2026.
Lauer made $2.3 million last season in a swing role that saw him start 15 games for the Blue Jays and pitch 13 times out of the bullpen.
He's a free agent after the 2026 season.
