Sam Moll is staying put.

The left-hander was on the bubble for the Cincinnati Reds. While they non-tendered three other players - pitchers Carson Spiers and Roddery Munoz and catcher Will Banfield - they decided to keep Moll in the fold.
The Cincinnati Reds have avoided arbitration with Sam Moll. They agree to a 1-year, $875k deal with incentives according to @JonHeyman.

MLB Trade Rumors projected Moll to get $1.2 million.
Moll, who was expected to earn around $1.2MM in 2026, instead re-signed for 875K, although the deal comes with roughly 150K in bonuses.
It's a somewhat surprising decision considering that Moll took a step back in 2025, a season that saw him go 1-0 with a 6.38 ERA in 23 appearances.
His time in Triple-A Louisville wasn't inspiring either. There, he was 0-3 with 5.00 ERA in 28 games.
Moll, who turns 34 on Jan 3rd, made his major league with the Oakland Athletics back in 2017. After posting a 10.80 ERA in 11 games, he was designated for assignment after the season.
After being claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates and then the Seattle Mariners, he was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays prior to the start of the 2018 season.
He was DFA'd by Toronto on the eve of opening day and ultimately spent the entire season in Triple A Buffalo where he went 1-3 with a 5.30 ERA in 15 games.
Moll then went through the San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks and back to Oakland before traded to Cincinnati in 2023.

Reds hope Moll can return to 2023-2024 form

While 2025 was a regression, the Reds are hoping he can return to the kind of pitcher he was in 2023 and 2024, when he a combined 5-2 with an ERA under 3.00
He will likely compete for a bullpen job in Spring Training.
