The Toronto Blue Jays bullpen with have a much different look when pitchers and catchers report to spring training in 2026.
When the Blue Jays acquired right-handed side-armer Chase Lee from the Detroit Tigers, and then signed free agent submariner Tyler Rogers to a three-year, $37 million deal, you knew that the Blue Jays were creating a new look bullpen.
Rogers, who turns 35 on Wednesday, joins Louis Varland and Yimi Garcia as the main right-handed setup relievers to closer Jeff Hoffman, with Brendan Little and Mason Fluharty pitching in high-leverage from the left side.
Tyler Rogers pitching in the Rogers Centre for the next 3 years on a contract worth $37m and the Blue Jays front office just won't stop 😤
Since 2021: 378.1 IP | 374 G | 2.71 ERA | 263 K | 57% GB
One of the best relievers on the market to a team continuing to build off of 2025!

Rogers will give American League hitters uncomfortable at-bats and lots of time in the cage hitting off a trajekt machine
Though a completely different style of pitcher, Rogers will ostensibly replace Seranthony Dominguez, currently a free agent, in the Jays' bullpen.
The Denver native has a fastball that barely breaks 85 miles per hour, averaging 83.5 this past season. It's in the first percentile in fastball velocity, which means that 99 per cent of major-league pitchers throw harder than he does.
But he's in the 98th percentile in ground ball rate, the 99th percentile in average exit velocity and the 100th percentile in barrel rate, which means that almost no pitcher in the game gets more weak ground balls and nobody misses more barrels than Rogers does.
Tyler Rogers has a 3.1% Barrel% since the start of the 2021 season, that is the lowest mark in Major League Baseball (minimum 200 IP).
Rogers defies convention in that he's been platoon-neutral over his career, allowing a .633 OPS to opposing righties and .625 to left-handed hitters. That's an incredible weapon to have in a bullpen, submariner or otherwise.
Tyler Rogers (signed by TOR) is one-of-a-kind pitcher. He provides an extremely distinct look on the mound thanks to his submarine delivery. He posted an excellent 1.98 ERA and 2.88 FIP in 77.1 innings in 2025 due to his ability to induce a ton of weak contact. This is a big get!
Along with a healthy Garcia and a full year of Varland, who took huge strides in his first year being used exclusively out of the bullpen, Rogers raises the floor significantly for a Jays bullpen that was probably the team's greatest weakness this past season.
