Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Arjun Nimmala is becoming a budding star and Baseball America has been watching very closely.

Over the past few seasons, you'd need to stretch a bit to find the success stories in the Toronto Blue Jays' farm system. Suddenly, it's getting easier by the day.
A year ago, the Blue Jays gave Arjun Nimmala an aggressive assignment to Single-A Dunedin and it took some time -- including a trip back to the complex for a few weeks -- for that to pay off.
This year, they doubled down on their belief in Nimmala and it's paying off, fully and completely.
Nimmala has been climbing up Baseball America's Top 100 list list very quickly this season, starting at around the 90s to start, but jumping to 58th in their May update, and now up to 41st.
Arjun Nimmala looks like a budding star. The Blue Jays teenage SS jumped 18 more spots in our latest Top 100 update.
It makes sense, as the shortstop is having a terrific season with the High-A Vancouver Canadians, slashing .286/.372/.510 for a 140 wRC+.
His nine home runs are tied for the third-most on the team, alongside Jace Bohrofen, Orelvis Martinez, and Yohendrick Pinango.
It's become obvious that his power upside isn't just dangling in the distance, it's already special and Nimmala still has plenty of room to fill out his tall frame as he rounds out his development.
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, but it's getting tempting.
The question is, when does Nimmala move up to Double-A?
At just 19 years old, it looks like he's ready as he's ever been.
On top of the power and high batting average, Nimmala has cut down his strikeout rate significantly, going from a 30.7 K% in 2024 to an 18.1 K% so far this season.
Double-A is a tough test for a player so young, but it's clear that Nimmala has nothing else to achieve at the High-A level.
The Blue Jays could soon be looking at life without Bo Bichette if he walks in free agency, and while Opening Day of 2026 is too early for Nimmala, we're officially entering the territory where we can begin to discuss the future of this lineup and organization with Nimmala's name penciled in.
