The Toronto Blue Jays look for the series win against New York Yankees in the second matchup of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium.

Kevin Gausman and the Blue Jays' lineup remained true to who they've been all season as they executed a clinical 7-1 win over the Yankees in front of 46,055 on Friday.
With the victory, the Blue Jays improved to 82-59 and increased their lead to four games over the Yankees, creating further separation from an American League East rival whom they already hold a tiebreaker over.
Blue Jays veteran Chris Bassitt is on the bump versus Yankees starter Luis Gil this afternoon. First pitch is at 1:05 PM ET on Sportsnet and YES Network.

Starting pitchers overview

In his last outing Chris Bassitt took a no-decision against the Reds, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six.
That represented Bassitt's first quality start since his Aug. 3 start against the Royals.
The veteran right-hander has walked multiple batters in six consecutive outings, though he has fanned at least six in three straight appearances.
Bassitt will take a 4.10 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 154:46 K:BB across 156 innings into this afternoons game against the Yankees.
Luis Gil gets the ball today for the Yankees. In his last outing Gil did not factor into the decision in a 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts.
The New York right-hander equaled a season high with his seven punchouts generated on 12 whiffs out of his 98 total pitches.
Gil was cruising through the first five frames, conceding just one run on a Will Robertson double in the second.
After giving up a solo homer to Colson Montgomery with one out in the sixth, Gil walked the next batter and was then lifted from the contest.
Through 29.1 total innings, Gil now sports a 3.68 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 29:19 K:BB with a worrisome 25.6 percent groundball rate.
