Adam Macko will make his debut this season at rightfully so, but there is another Canadian pitcher who is also turning heads.
And unlike Macko, who was acquired from the Seattle Mariners in the Teoscar Hernandez trade, this Canadian was actually drafted by Canada's team, twice.
And while there are other Canadian prospects also hoping to make an impact this season, this pitcher's story is particularly unique.
Meet Micah Bucknam.

The native of Abbotsford, BC - who was actually born in New Zealand - was first drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2021, when he was still a senior at Mennonite Educational Institute.
However, Bucknam wanted to honour his commitment to Louisiana State University and chose not to sign.
Things didn't quite go according to plan.
After making his debut with the college in 2023, he struggled to a 7.00 ERA in 2024. His time was up snd he transferred to Dallas Baptist.
The Blue Jays came calling again in 2025. MLB Pipeline had him ranked has the 131st best prospect and Toronto picked him slightly ahead of that, selecting him with the 112th overall pick.
While his fastball, which sits between 92-96mph, is graded as average, the key to his success could be his hard slider, which is graded at 65, while his curveball has a grade of 60. However, his command still lags behind.
Bucknam was assigned to the Gulf Coast Blue Jays upon being drafted and made his professional debut there in 2025.
He will likely begin 2026 there as well, and if he is able to prove his command, should see a promotion to Low-A Dunedin at some point during the season.
