Coquitlam, B.C. native Tim Piasentin is set to make his professional debut in 2026, with plans to showcase his left-handed power in the Florida Complex League.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected third baseman Tim Piasentin in the fifth round of the 2025 MLB Draft, signing him to an above-slot bonus of $750,000 in July.
Coming out of Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks, Alta., Piasentin entered the draft ranked 160th by MLB Pipeline.
At 6-foot-3, Piasentin brings an imposing frame and significant raw power to the plate, with the ability to drive the ball to all fields.
That power has been evident throughout his amateur career, bolstered by extensive experience with Canada’s Junior National Team.
There, he faced elite prep competition from the United States as well as professional-caliber talent from the Dominican Republic.
He also represented Canada at the 2024 U18 Pan American qualifier.
Piasentin’s draft stock continued to rise after he earned an invitation to the MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field and was ranked 108th overall by Baseball America heading into the draft.
The power in Tim Piasentin's game is not up for debate. The Blue Jays prospect naturally generates plus-plus bat speed + power, posting impressive exit velocities 🔥 He could develop into an everyday regular with above-average power.
A left-handed hitter, he drew consistent praise during his draft year for the strength and efficiency of his swing.
Baseball America described it as “a ready-made swing to drive the ball with authority in the air,” noting the potential for double-plus raw power down the line.
In September 2024, Piasentin put that power on display at the Canadian Futures Showcase, where he captured the Home Run Derby title.

Entering the 2026 season, Piasentin ranks No. 20 on the Blue Jays’ organizational prospect list.
Scouts have raved about his power potential and his ability to hold his own against professional competition prior to being drafted.
“He's a big dude and you can't make up those exit velocities,” said Joe Sclafani, the Blue Jays’ director of player development. “The ability is there, and it's an exciting foundation to work off of. He's obviously super raw, but man, it comes off his bat pretty good. Pretty exciting.”

Piasentin is widely expected to begin his professional career in the Florida Complex League.
While his long-term defensive home is still being evaluated, his bat—and especially his power—remains his defining asset as the Blue Jays continue to develop him.
