Former Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ty France hit two home runs for San Diego Padres in a comeback 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Mexico Series.

Ty France got the Padres on the board with a solo home run in the fifth inning before adding another in the ninth.
While France won a gold glove last year with the Blue Jays, offensively he was a bust.
As a Blue Jays fan you're probably wondering why now? Why didn't he perform at this level with Toronto?
Well the answer comes in the form of thin air, or as some refer to as the 'Coors Field effect'.
Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu stadium in Mexico City is 7300 feet above sea level, so German Marquez, who spent a decade pitching at Coors Field, was the perfect guy to start for the Dbacks.
Marquez had one hiccup, allowing four runs in the 2nd inning, but sandwiched five shutout frames around that to give his guys a chance to put together one of their patented comebacks.
France started it with a no-doubter solo shot to right-centerfield in the 5th inning.

The majority of the damage came in the 7th, when Arizona just fell apart.
The france did it again with another opposite-field homer in the top of the 9th, but this one was likely aided by the thin air.

Leading 6-4 heading to the bottom half, it was Miller Time.
Mason Miller worked a 1-2-3 inning to run his scoreless innings streak to 34.2 straight, breaking Cla Meredith's franchise record in the process.
For France it marked his second multi-hit effort of the season and his first two-homer game since 2023.

Following the game France spoke with Yonder Alonso about the atmosphere playing in Mexico City.
"This place is special. It's loud, it's a great environment, it's fun playing here."

Ty France caught up with Yonder Alonso after hitting two homers in the #MexicoCitySeries opener.
On the year, the 31-year-old is slashing .265/.306/.559 with four extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs scored across just 36 plate appearances.
The Padres try to stay perfect in Mexico City on Sunday afternoon with Michael King on the mound against Ryne Nelson.

Do you think Ty France will continue this trend or is it just a case of the Coors Field effect?
