The Toronto Blue Jays are living up to their reputation as the best defensive team in baseball.
Ernie Clement gold glove nomination means everything, no one deserves that award more than him
One name not on the list? Reigning Gold Glove winner
Daulton Varsho. His lack of nomination has nothing to do with his performance, but rather eligibility. Varsho appeared in only 71 games in 2025 and therefore didn't qualify for a chance to repeat.
Gimenez, nominated at 2nd base, has won three consecutive Gold Gloves. And while he only appeared in 91 games this year, his superior defence makes him a great candidate to win a fourth in a row.
France and Guerrero find themselves competing against each other at first base. Vladdy has won it once before, but many analysts feel that this might be France's year.
Kirk, who finds himself up against the Tigers
Dillon Dingler and Boston's
Carlos Narvaez has a good chance to net his first award thanks to his superior pitch framing abilities, which are considered the best in the league.
Then there's Clement. He is seeking to become the fourth player to win a Gold Glove at multiple positions, and the first to do it within the same season. Out of the two, it feels the utility player award is more within reach.
Blue Jays a good bet to win team Gold Glove
Having five different players nominated for six Gold Glove Awards puts Toronto in a good position to win the Team Gold Glove. They have always been known, especially in 2025, as a superior defensive team and the nominations reinforce that fact.
The winners will unveiled on ESPN on November 2nd.
