Former Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez is on the road to a MLB comeback.
According to a report from MLB insider Francys Romero, former Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Aaron Sanchez has drawn interest from multiple MLB teams this off-season.
Aaron Sanchez, 33, has drawn interest and multiple MLB team offers this offseason. His agent, Chris Leible of Smooth Baseball, said, «We are considering our options.»
Sanchez posted stellar numbers over eight starts in the DWL
Sanchez recently earned Pitcher of the Year honors in the Dominican Winter League, a six-team circuit where he impressed throughout the season.
Pitching for the Toros del Este, the 31-year-old posted a stellar 1.55 ERA over eight starts, striking out 34 batters while allowing 35 hits across 46.2 innings.
Sanchez is best remembered for his tenure in Toronto from 2014 through 2019. During that stretch, he made 146 regular-season appearances for the Blue Jays, compiling a 32-33 record with a 3.96 ERA.
He was dealt to the Houston Astros during the 2019 season and later pitched for the San Francisco Giants in 2021.
The veteran has not appeared in the majors since 2022, when he split time between the Washington Nationals and Minnesota Twins.
According to Bob Elliott of the Canadian Baseball Network, Sanchez is also set to represent Mexico at the World Baseball Classic in March.
Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk will join him on the Mexican roster.
Given Sanchez's dominant showing this winter, teams around the league appear to believe he still has the potential to rediscover his form.
If that optimism is justified, he should have no shortage of suitors, possibly including the Blue Jays as reliable pitching depth remains a valuable commodity across MLB.
