The Chicago White Sox have re-signed Brandon Drury to a minor league contract. He won't join the team right away and instead will head to extended Spring Training.

After spending the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, Drury signed a minor league deal with the south siders this offseason. He had a successful spring, slashing .410/.439/.810/ with three home runs and seven doubles in just 41 plate appearances. Although he appeared to be a lock to make the team, he suffered a broken thumb at the end of camp and the Sox released him from the deal.
Now, he is back with the team on a similar pact.
Drury was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 13th round of the 2010 major league and made his debut as a September call-up with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015. He dealt to the Yankees as part of a three team deal at the start of 2018, and then was shipped to the Blue Jays along with Billy McKinney for J.A. Happ at that year's trading deadline.
Although he hit 15 home runs in 149 games for the Blue Jays, he had a paltry .208 average and a -1.7 WAR. He was designated for assignment in September of 2020 and elected free agency at the end of the season.
He spent 2021 with the New York Mets, before splitting 2022 between the Padres and Reds.
After a decent 2023 with Los Angeles, a season in which he slugged 26 home runs, his 2024 was nothing short of disastrous, slashing just .169/.242/.228 with four home runs and 15 RBIs in 97 games for the Halos.
