At least one Toronto Blue Jays depth player won't be returning.

Infielder Michael Stefanic, who appeared in nine games in a Blue Jays uniform in 2025, has signed a minor league contract with the Athletics. As per most minor league deals, it comes with an invite to Spring Training.
Although 30 years old, Stefanic has limited big league experience. He has appeared in each of the last four seasons but has played a total of 99 games.
BREAKING:

The Oakland Athletics and Michael Stefanic are in agreement on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training

Best of luck Stefanic
Signed by the Los Angeles Angels as an undrafted free agent in 2018, he spent several years in the minors before finally making his debut in 2022.
After bouncing between Triple-A and the Major Leagues, he was picked up by the Blue Jays just over a year ago. One of the last cuts in Spring Training, Stefanic spent the first six weeks of the season in Buffalo before making his Toronto debut in early May.
He appeared in nine games and went 4-22 with three walks and three strikeouts. He was DFA'd in June and declared free agency in November. He mostly appeared at 2nd base but also saw a couple innings at shortstop, and made one mop-up pitching appearance. He also has experience at third base.

Stefanic has had success at the minor league level

In spite of his limited big-league experience, Stefanic has shown promise in the minor leagues. In 426 games at the Triple-A, he has hit .332. with 33 home runs and 237 RBIs. He also stolen 28 bases.
Stefanic will likely compete for a job on the Athletics bench.
