The defending World Champions are shoring up some depth moves.

On Saturday it was announced that the Los Angeles Dodgers had re-signed pitcher Nick Frasso to minor league deal.
While much of the focus has been on the recent signing of Edwin Diaz, even the World Series winners need depth pieces.
Frasso 27, was initially non-tendered by the club in November but the two sides remained in contact and now Frasso will be returning to the organization in 2026.
The Dodgers have brought back former top prospect Nick Frasso on a minor-league deal.
Frasso, a right-hander, was initially drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays as fourth round selection in 2020. An alumnus of Loyola Marymount College in Los Angeles, Frasso was injured three games into his professional career with the Dunedin Blue Jays, suffering a partial tear of his Ulnar Collateral ligament (UCL).
He returned in 2022 but was traded in August of that year when the Blue Jays acquired pitcher Mitch White from Los Angeles.
The Dodgers converted him to a starter in 2023 and he performed well, going 4-6 with a 3.77 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 93 innings.
However, injuries befell him once again and he ended up missing all of 2024 while recovering from a torn labrum.
While he ended up being the opening day starter for Triple-A Oklahoma in 2025, he struggled out of the rotation and was eventually moved to the bullpen. He was placed on the 60-Day IL at the end of the season.

Frasso should be fully healthy to start the season

In spite of being placed on the IL to end the year, Frasso should be fully healthy come Spring Training and will likely begin the year at Triple-A. While he could be considered a candidate for a call-up at some point during the season, he needs to regain his consistency.
He still has one option year remaining. While there is no official word on whether or not he received a Spring Training invite, his track record in the minors makes it seem likely.
