From South Jersey to Toronto, a full circle moment for these current Blue Jays players

Buddy Kennedy joining the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday excited Davis Schneider and Joey Loperfido more than most.

Kennedy had his contract purchased on Tuesday afternoon after catcher Ali Sanchez was designated for assignment.

The 26-year-old had been signed to a minor-league deal after being released by the Philadelphia Phillies in July.

The 26-year-old has played in just 58-career MLB games to date, and as such didn't generate a ton of excitement from the outside world when Tuesday's news broke.

It was quite exciting for Schneider and Loperfido, however, as it meant that the three would be reunited for the first time in years.

Schneider and Kennedy, both born and raised in New Jersey, grew up playing together on the same baseball team.

By the time they reached high school, they wound up spending two seasons on the same team as Loperfido, who was born in Philadelphia.

They are all currently 26, though Loperfido is the youngest of the trio.

Not only do the three get to play on the same team, but they are playing for one that is a legit World Series contender.

The Jays currently lead the AL-East Division with a 68-48 record, a record which both Loperfido and Schneider have played a part in.

Loperfido has spent more time at the Triple-A level this season, but has been blistering hot in his 24 games with the Blue Jays, hitting .389 with three home runs and 10 RBI.

He's currently out of the lineup due to a knee injury, but isn't expected to miss much time.
