Jose Berrios looked absolutely stellar in his final spring tune-up, giving up four hits and one run while striking out five and walking one over 5.1 innings.
The Blue Jays' offence also exploded for four home runs. Following an RBI single by Anthony Santander, George Springer, who has been scuffling this spring, launched a three-run home run in the third inning to give the Blue Jays a 4-0 lead. Addison Barger then lead off the fourth inning with a solo hot of his own, his third of the Spring.
The Phillies got one back in the fifth on a solo shot from Kyle Schwarber, Berrios' only blemish on the afternoon. The Blue Jays answered in the bottom half thanks to a three-run shot from 2nd baseman Andres Gimenez.
Gimenez singled again in the sixth to put increase the Jays lead to 9-1. Payton Henry hit a two-run shot of reliever Yimi Garcia to make it 9-3 before Alejandro Kirk answered with a solo home run of his own to put the Jays back up by seven.
Cal Stevenson hit a two-run double and Davis Schneider responded with an RBI single to make it 11-5 Blue Jays.
Erick Brito homered in the ninth to make things interesting for the Phillies before Richard Lovelady got the final outs to preserve the win for Toronto.
The Blue Jays continue their Spring Training slate against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:07PM ET.
