The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners 3-1 in Friday evening action at Rogers Centre. With the win, the Blue Jays have now won seven out of their last ten and improve to 12-8 on the season.

Sacrifice flies from Anthony Santander and Alan Roden sandwiched around Mariners home run from Rowdy Tellez, gave the Blue Jays an early 2-1 lead.
Alejandro Kirk added an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to put the Blue Jays up by two.
George Springer also continued his hot start, going 2-4 with a double and two runs scored. While the Blue Jays got some help from Seattle, who ran into a couple of outs, they got an assist from Addison Barger, who threw out two - albeit slower runners - on the base paths.
Bowden Francis got the start for the Blue Jays and, besides the Tellez home run, had a very strong outing, going six innings giving up five hits, while walking one and striking out five.
Mason Fluharty, Chad Green, and Yimi Garcia all contributed scoreless appearances before Jeff Hoffman slammed the door in the ninth inning to preserve the win for the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays and Mariners continue their series on Saturday in a matchup that sees Jose Berrios opposed by Logan Gilbert. First pitch is scheduled for 3:07PM ET.
