Blue Jays announce injury update on Bowden Francis
Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media yesterday, giving them an update on a lot of injured players including Francis who has finally started a throwing progression.
28-year-old Sandlin has resumed his throwing program and is progressing well. Sandlin is still limited to throwing on flat ground, so it appears he's multiple weeks away from returning.
Nick Sandlin (elbow) is continuing to ramp up at Blue Jays complex in Dunedin; he's throwing from flat ground at 120-feet. Bowden Francis (shoulder) has also started a throwing progression.

Nick Sandlin is now throwing from 120 feet in Florida. While Francis is finally throwing again which is a huge step in the right direction, there is a solid chance that he might not be back this season as there is less than two months left.
While he's resumed a throwing program, it's unclear how far along he is. Francis remains multiple weeks away from returning.
For Francis it is probably better for him to take his time returning from injury since 2025 went quite poorly for the starting pitcher as he currently has a 6.05 ERA in 64 innings pitched this season.
He's since resumed a throwing program, but it's unclear how far along he is. Francis remains multiple weeks away from returning.
