The Milwaukee Brewers have signed former Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Jacob Waguespack to a minor league contract.

Per a report from Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to a minor league deal with right-handed pitcher Jacob Waguespack.
Hogg also noted the contract includes a non-roster invitation to big league spring training.

Waguespack provides the Brewers with depth, potential swing man role

Waguespack, 32, has seen action across three major league seasons and also spent two years pitching in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
In 105 2/3 innings at the MLB level, he owns a 5.11 ERA, striking out 18.9% of batters while issuing walks at a 10.1% clip. He’s also generated ground balls at a 41.4% rate.
The right-hander spent the last two seasons in the Rays and Phillies organizations but did not make a major league appearance in 2025.
He logged 33 innings at Triple-A between the two clubs, posting an impressive 2.45 ERA along with a 24.4% strikeout rate and an 8.7% walk rate, though injuries sidelined him for roughly half the season.
During his two-year stint in Japan, Waguespack compiled a 4.02 ERA across 116 1/3 innings, pairing solid strikeout totals with less consistent control.
Similar trends have followed him at Triple-A, where he’s recorded a 4.24 ERA, a 23.4% strikeout rate and an 8% walk rate over 269 2/3 innings spanning parts of five seasons.
Waguespack has experience both as a starter and a reliever, though he worked exclusively out of the bullpen when healthy in 2025.
He features a four-pitch mix led by a 93 mph four-seam fastball, an 86 mph cutter, a low-80s changeup and an occasional curveball that typically sits around 76 mph.
Overall, Waguespack provides the Brewers with added depth and could factor in as bullpen support or a potential swingman option.
