Kevin Gausman will make his first start of the season for the Blue Jays.
The 34-year-old righty started and threw six innings when he last appeared Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024 against the Boston Red Sox.
In his 31 appearances last season he finished with a 3.83 ERA and a 1.221 WHIP, putting together a 14-11 record.
He'll start the season against plenty of familiar faces, as six members of the Orioles' roster have had 10+ at-bats against him in his career.
Ryan Mountcastle and Cedric Mullins are both hitting better than .300 against him, while Colton Cowser has a 1.143 OPS in seven at-bats against Gausman.
Charlie Morton will make his first start of the season for the Orioles.
The 41-year-old righty last pitched Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024 against the Kansas City Royals, tossing 4 1/3 innings as the starter.
He finished last season with a 4.19 ERA and a 1.325 WHIP while earning an 8-10 record.
Morton will be making his Orioles debut after spending the past four seasons with Atlanta.
And while he's spent most of this decade in the National League, he was with the Rays in 2019 and 2020, so he has a bit of history with some members of the Blue Jays.
Bo Bichette (.313 average in 16 at-bats against Morton) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (.308 in 13 at-bats) have faced off against him a bunch, while George Springer is 3-for-8 in his career against him.
