Report: Blue Jays' Bo Bichette latest contract figure has now gone above $200 million

With the season Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is having, his value continues to rise with each day.
A recent report suggested that Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins made a big mistake in not signing Bichette earlier since if they would have closed in on him at the start of the season, they would have saved a ton of money.
Blue Jays will likely now have to pay Bo Bichette over $200 million
Baseball Writers Association of America's Brandon Wile recently went on Sportsnet 590 The Fan and spoke of how Bichette could be expecting as much as $200-$250 million in his next contract due to the timing of it all.
"After doing a little more digging, I think he probably falls in the $200M-$250M range... I think Bo [Bichette] is going to hit the market at exactly the right time." @Brandon_N_Wile on Bichette's potential next contract alongside @juliackreuz and @SNSAlli
If Bichette ends up making it all the way to free agency, he will likely be one of if not the top player available.
He will be getting quite the pay raise as there will be multiple teams bidding on his services which will result in an overpay for the Bue Jays.
Bichette was coming off the worst season of his career in 2024 and if Ross Atkins had of signed him at the start of the season, they would have gotten Bichette at a much better price.
As Bichette continues to dominate and lead the league in hits, the Blue Jays will likely have to make him a huge offer to persuade him to stay in Toronto.

Many compared Bichette's next contract to the one Willy Adames signed in the off-season valued at $182 million but now with his dominant performance in 2025, Bichette will most likely surpass $200 million.
Hopefully the Blue Jays will find a way to keep him in Toronto but for the time being, it certainly seems like Ross Atkins will have to offer him the world.
