Rodriguez will start the game and Bloss will presumably be the next pitcher to follow. In keeping with the early trajectory and workload of Spring Training, expect each of them to last about two innings.
Both Rodriguez and Bloss are first up on the Blue Jays depth chart in the event on injury to the rotation.
Rodriguez, who was a starter last year, figures to transition to the bullpen this year. Although it was initially that he would act as a hybrid/long man out of the pen, with the recent signing of Ryan Yarbrough, the Blue Jays could opt to shorten him up.
He is a bit of a wildcard on the Blue Jays roster, and his spring could go a number of ways.
Bloss, on the other hand, is likely to start the year in Triple-A Buffalo. He will be the Blue Jays sixth starter, and will likely be the first call-up should the need for one arise.
Bloss, who was the centrepiece of the deal that sent Yusei Kikuchi to the Astros, was rushed to the majors last year.
In three appearances for Houston, he went 0-1 with a 6.94 ERA.
The Blue Jays game against the Red Sox airs at 1:05pm on SportsNet.
