Toronto Blue Jays centerfielder Daulton Varsho felt hamstring tightness while running the bases on Monday as he works to recover from a grade-1 hamstring strain suffered at the end of May. The team decided that Varsho should get a precautionary MRI to see if there was any further damage to his left hamstring.

The Blue Jays announced that they had Varsho get an MRI in which everything came back fine, there was nothing new according to John Schneider adding that it was probably scar tissue irritation.
Daulton Varsho underwent a precautionary MRI last night after experiencing tightness in his left hamstring while running "and everything was fine," said Blue Jays manager John Schneider. "Nothing new, nothing crazy. Probably just a little bit of scar tissue irritation."
Varsho did some running in the outfield today - along with hitting live and throwing - and will return to running the bases in the next few days, Schneider added.

"It probably just set him back a day or so," he said.
Arden Zwelling reiterated the same news adding that Varsho's MRI revealed some scar tissue irritation but added that nothing was structural.
Daulton Varsho resumed running in the outfield today after experiencing some hamstring tightness while running the bases on Monday. Blue Jays sent Varsho for an MRI, which revealed some scar tissue irritation but nothing structural. Hope is he'll get back to running bases soon.
The hope is that the outfielder will be cleared to run the bases again soon.
Varsho had been nearing a rehab assignment before the setback, so he should be ready to play in minor-league games soon if all goes well with his running program.
