The Toronto Blue Jays have extended a spring training invitation to their No. 3 overall prospect, Arjun Nimmala.
The Toronto Blue Jays announced their invites to 2026 Spring Training on Thursday, and Arjun Nimmala is among them.
Toronto selected Nimmala with the 20th overall pick in the draft, choosing the 17-year-old shortstop out of Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, Florida - located just about an hour from the Blue Jays' spring training home in Dunedin.
The selection made Nimmala the highest-drafted first-generation Indian-American in the history of Major League Baseball and any major U.S. professional sport.
The Blue Jays also showed their confidence in the 6-foot-1, 190-pound infielder by signing him to a $3 million bonus.
Among BlueJays non-roster invites to Spring Training:
3. Arjun Nimmala
6. Gage Stanifer
10. RJ Schreck
12. Josh Kasevich
13. Edward Duran
15. Charles McAdoo
17. Fernando Perez
26. Sean Keys

Nimmala expected to turn heads again in 2026
After only two full seasons in the minor leagues, Nimmala has already climbed to the High-A Vancouver Canadians, and on Wednesday the organization announced he would join the major league club for spring training.
Now 20 years old, Nimmala is ranked as Toronto's third-best prospect by MLB Pipeline.
He appeared in 120 games for Vancouver last season, hitting 13 home runs, driving in 61 runs, and scoring 70 times.
Power is the standout part of Nimmala's offensive profile, earning a 60 grade from MLB Pipeline.

While there is some concern about swing-and-miss against off-speed pitches, his declining strikeout rate offers reason for optimism.
His hit tool trails behind the power, but defensively he projects to remain at shortstop, supported by a 60-grade arm and solid 50-grade fielding.
Although Nimmala is not expected to seriously contend for a spot on the Blue Jays' Opening Day roster, the spring training invite provides a valuable opportunity for him to showcase his skills in front of manager John Schneider and the coaching staff against top-level competition - just three years removed from high school.
Fans may get their first look at Nimmala in game action on February 21, when the Blue Jays open their spring training schedule against the Philadelphia Phillies at TD Ballpark in Dunedin.
