The Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider gave the media an update on Ricky Tiedemann's progress on Tuesday.

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider provided an update with reporters on Tuesday regarding the progress of pitching prospect Ricky Tiedemann.
According to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson, Tiedemann resumed throwing on Tuesday after dealing with elbow soreness.
Blue Jays No. 5 prospect Ricky Tiedemann (elbow soreness) will start throwing again today and ramp back up. They'll be cautious with it and this could potentially delay the start to his season, but he's back on track now.

Tiedemann has yet to appear in a game for Toronto this spring

The 23-year-old left-hander had been shut down since late February and ultimately missed about two weeks, despite the injury initially being expected to keep him out for only one.
The Blue Jays plan to carefully manage Tiedemann's workload as he ramps back up, and a delayed start to the season remains a possibility.
The former top prospect is working his way back after missing most of 2024 and the entire 2025 season following Tommy John surgery.
Now ranked No. 5 on MLB.com's Blue Jays prospect list, Tiedemann previously posted a 3.68 ERA across 15 starts at four different minor-league levels during the 2023 season.

Schneider also provided updates on a pair of injured pitchers

Shane Bieber (forearm) and Yimi Garcia (elbow) have not yet progressed to throwing off a mound as they continue their recoveries.
Earlier in spring training, Schneider said Bieber would follow a slower ramp-up after the team announced in early February that he was dealing with arm fatigue.
The right-hander did not require surgery and is still expected to make his season debut early in the year.
Bieber joined Toronto at last season's trade deadline and had only recently returned from Tommy John surgery in August.
Garcia's timeline appears less certain. The veteran reliever underwent elbow surgery in September and is not expected to be ready in time for Opening Day.
