Toronto Blue Jays rookie sensation Trey Yesavage proposes to longtime girlfriend Taylor Frick on a beach after World Series.
What a whirlwind year it's been for Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage.
Talk about about a rollercoaster ride!
First it was the was postseason debut of a lifetime against the New York Yankees.
Then it was the record-breaking outing in his World Series debut against the Dodgers.
Followed by the heartbreaking loss in game 7 of the World Series, and now he is getting married to his best friend.
Trey Yesavage proposes to longtime girlfriend on the beach
Yesavage's longtime girlfriend, Taylor Frick, shared a photo set on Instagram of the two getting engaged on a beach on Thursday.
«In this lifetime & the next, it will always be you,» Frick wrote as a caption.
Several Blue Jays teammates as well as wives and girlfriends liked and commented on the post, congratulating the happy couple.
«What a year! Congrats, we are so excited for y'all,» Jessica Bassitt, wife of pitcher Chris, commented on the post.
Emily Little, the wife of reliever Brendon Little, wrote «the best news ever» and «AHHH congratulations!!!»
The pair were at East Carolina University homecoming last weekend, so it's possible they were at a beach somewhere in the Carolinas.
And given that Yesavage is wearing long sleeves and pants, it suggests they're not exactly in the warmest of November climates.
The MLB season is long, arduous, and takes up much of the summer months, Yesavage and Frick might have to target the MLB All-Star weekend if they want to tie the knot during peak wedding season.
But given the way that Yesavage has been playing, it seems safer to assume that they'll have to schedule something that avoids that weekend, and perhaps miss out on October too next year, just to be safe in case of another long playoff run for the Blue Jays.
And while few players ever have been tasked with such a massive responsibility that early into their pro career, he seemed to thrive under pressure, setting multiple Blue Jays franchise and MLB records along the way.
He's still technically eligible for American League Rookie of the Year next season, despite already being a household name across the MLB.
