The Toronto Blue Jays have signed former Detroit Tigers infield prospect Carlos Mendoza to a minor league contract.
The Blue Jays signed Mendoza to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, according to Baseball America's Emily Waldon.
Tigers AA/AAA utility guru, Carlos Mendoza has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to his instagram.
Mendoza spent the first six years of his pro career in the Tigers organization, hitting .287/.394/.409 with seven homers and 12 steals between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo in 2025.
He also tallied 7 HR and 41 RBI with 12 SB. Walked 53 times, struck out 45 times across 97 games

Tigers minor league managers love Mendoza because of his versatility. Doesn't hit for power but having a solid year so far in Toledo and Erie, batting .350/.474/.974.
