Spring Training may be here, but the Toronto Blue Jays are continuing to add.

A day after adding Phillippe Aumont, the Gatineau, Quebec native, and former reliever for the Philadelphia Phillies, Canada's also added another righty - former Athletics farmhand Jack Cushing.
The announcement was listed on the team's official transaction log.
Big time congrats to
@GtownBaseball alum Jack Cushing ‘19 on signing with the @BlueJays !!

Cushing a candidate to be stretched out

While he has been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo, the contract does not, as of yet, include an invite to Spring Training.
Cushing was drafted by what was then Oakland, all the way back in 2019, in the 22nd round of that year's amateur draft.
While the 29-year old has yet to reach the major leagues, the has spent the last three seasons bouncing back and forth between AA Midland RockHounds and AAA Las Vegas Aviators, both affiliates of the A's.
While he has performed well in the lower levels of the minors, as well as Double-A, Cushing always seems to run into trouble in Triple-A.
In 2025, which was first year spent entirely in Las Vegas, he went 11-2, but had a 6.68 ERA in 38 games.
While that is undoubtedly high, that number is actually down from previous seasons.
While Cushing had a 5.01 ERA in 22 AAA games in 2024, in 2022 and 2023 his ERA was 14.14 and 16.55 respectively, thought in many fewer games.
Still, with the spate of pitcher injuries that were announced yesterday, the Blue Jays would do well to shore up their depth in Buffalo.
While its unknown what the Blue Jays' plan with Cushing might be, he is likely a candidate that will be stretched out.
He has 165 career minor league games, and has started just over half of them.
Who knows, if things go well, then Cushing could well make his major league debut midseason.
