Blue Jays right-handed reliever Paxton Schultz poured his heart out on Instagram thanking his wife, family, friends, teammates and fans for a great season.
"Although it didn't end like we would have liked I have so much to be grateful for!"
"Especially grateful for the opportunity to be apart of this amazing team and organization. I learned from some of the best to ever play this game and for that I am so lucky. It was a life long dream come true to make it to the Major Leagues!"
Schultz trusted the process and grateful for support system
"To start this season I wasn't sure how it was going to play out. I was on the last year of my minor league contract and honestly had my eyes on potential free agency and what I was going to do for next season."
"Then when I got the call up it really allowed me to slow down and take it all in. With so much uncertainty of where I'd be with going back and forth between AAA and the Majors, I made it a goal to be where my feet are and be grateful for the opportunity I had no matter where I was."
"That, along with putting my faith and trust in my Father in Heaven, and his plan for me, really allowed me to focus on what I could control and trust in that everything happens for a reason."
"As always, I couldn't get through any of this without the support of my amazing wife and family! Excited to spend time with them and keep getting better for next season. Go Jays!"
