In a season of records and firsts for the Toronto Blue Jays, Tuesday night offers the chance for fans to set one of their own.
For the past couple of seasons, the Blue Jays have teamed with Schneider's meat company to offer the loonie dog promotion, where fans can consume a hot dog at the ballpark for just $1.
So far, it's gone well, with 727,819 individual dogs being eaten in 2024. Turns out, when the Blue Jays are winning, the fans are eating more. 2025 saw that total surpassed with 733,412 being consumed.
With the final loonie dog night happening happening the Jays opener against the Red Sox, the Blue Jays and their fans have a chance to cross the 800,000 mark.

It's a mark that's easily doable. The record for most hot dogs consumed at a single game this season is 94,000, having been accomplished in a late August contest against the
New York Yankees. That night, an average of 2.29 hot dogs per fan were eaten.
Blue Jays have set several records other than their fans consuming copious amounts of hot dogs this season
Beyond the hot dogs, 2025 has been a record-setting season in a number of ways for the Blue Jays.
They set the franchise record for come-from-behind wins with 47. The previous record of 44, was set by the World Series team of 1993.
They won 11 in a row at home, also a new franchise record, and they reached 50 wins in the fewest number of games since 1992.
With so many firsts happening this season, it's time that the fans get to make their own first as well.
