There have been 121 editions of the World Series. 2025 is close to the best ever.
We are a little under 48 hours removed from Game 7, which saw the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Toronto Blue Jays to become the first repeat champions in 25 years.
Now, many people are reflecting on both the game and the series, which is being called the greatest ever played.
While that may seem like an exaggeration, there are a number of reasons why.
Game 3: It tied the record for longest World Series game ever played and was an All-time classic.
Game 7, which also went to extra innings in considered not only one of the best game 7s, but also one of the single best World Series games ever.
In the ninth, with the Dodgers two outs from going home the losers, got a jolt from light-hitting utility man Miguel Rojas to tie the game.
He was the involved a key play in the ninth, which saved the Dodgers season by about an inch.
Then there was all the records that were broken, both individual and collective.
Longtime ESPN Writer and baseball personality Tim Kurkjian believes it to be the greatest ever.

The Blue Jays worst-to-first storyline aside, every game was riveting, gripping, with neither giving an inch.

2025 dethrones 1991 as greatest series ever
Prior to 2025, the contender for greatest World Series ever was 1991, a matchup between the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves which also contained an extra-inning Game 7 victory.
But 2025 somehow topped that.
Two epic extra inning games, home runs aplenty, a David Vs. Goliath story, 2025 had it all.
The 2025 edition of the World Series will be talked about for years, generations.
It was simply the greatest.
