World Series tops year-end list of fantastic finishes of 2025 baseball season

The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers played some epic baseball. Now, they find themselves atop a list of best endings of the 2025 season.
MLB.com contributors Santhi Sepe-Chepuru and Jared Greenspan recently compiled a list of the top 20 greatest endings to a baseball game for the 2025 Major League Baseball Season.
Cementing its status as one of the greatest series ever played, the 2025 World Series occupies the top three spots on the list.

Unfortunately for Blue Jays, all of the games listed were one by their opponents.
The number three spot on the list is the Dodgers 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays in Game 6, largely thanks to Kike Hernandez' season-saving catch.
The Dodgers extra-inning win in Game 7 to win the series and repeat as champions comes in at number two. The game had everything, from the unlikely heroics of Miguel Rojas, to Yoshinobu Yamamoto coming in on zero days to finish out the game.
Number one on the list? The epic, 18-inning nail biter that was Game 3. The back-and-forth contest that was ultimately ended on a Freddie Freeman walk-off home run will go down as one of the most legendary baseball games ever played.
Two other Blue Jays games make the list
Although the Blue Jays were on the losing end of the games against the Dodgers, two other contests of theirs also appear on the list.
The first, which comes in at number 20, is their 11-9 win over the New York Yankees on July 2nd, which pulled them into a tie atop the AL East. The rest, as they say, was history.
The other Blue Jays game making list, is their legendary Game 7 win over the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series. Coming in at number six, this game cemented its place in Blue Jays lore thanks to George Springer's incredible home run in the seventh inning that propelled them into their first World Series in 32 years.
Whether they won or lost, there's no denying that the Toronto Blue Jays played some epic baseball in 2025.
