Freddie Freeman and Jordan Romano will not be playing in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

Across his 16-year career, Freeman has played in every big-game setting imaginable.
He has reached the playoffs in eight straight years, and he's won three World Series along the way, one with the Braves in '21 and two with the Dodgers.
Freeman has also played the world stage for Team Canada twice in the WBC. This time around it doesn't look like its going to happen.
According to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi, Freddie Freeman and Jordan Romano have withdrawn from the World Baseball Classic for personal reasons.
Some tough WBC news for Canada as Freddie Freeman withdraws for personal reasons. Dodgers star played in past two tourneys. Jordan Romano is out too, but on flip side, big boost for Canadian rotation as Jameson Taillon is in. Also now in are C Liam Hicks and INF Tyler Black.

Freeman has represented Canada in the last two World Baseball Classics

Coming off a World Series victory over the Blue Jays, his decision carries added weight in Canada, where fans may not be especially fond of him at the moment.
Freeman has chosen to play for Team Canada in the past two World Baseball Classics despite being born and raised in the United States.
He has dual citizenship through his parents and has said numerous times that his choice to play for Canada was meant to honor his mother.
Entering his 17th season, Freeman has already built a track record worthy of Hall of Fame consideration, with two MVP awards, nine All-Star selections, three World Series rings, one Gold Glove, three Silver Sluggers and one World Series MVP.
The Blue Jays are scheduled to play Team Canada on March 3 in a Spring Training exhibition game.
