Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider announce Tuesday that Trey Yesavage will get the start in game 5 of the World series vs the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The rookie right-hander will start Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Blue Jays announced Tuesday prior to Game 4.

Trey Yesavage to start fifth postseason game, second of the World Series

It will be the fifth start of the playoffs and second of the World Series for Yesavage, who made his MLB debut in September and had just three major-league starts before the post-season.
Yesavage is 2-1 with a 4.26 ERA in 19 innings during the post-season. All four previous playoff starts have come at Rogers Centre.
The 22-year-old Yesavage gave Toronto four gutsy innings of two-run ball in Toronto's 11-4 Game 1 win, even striking out Shohei Ohtani to open the game.
«It's my goal to go out there and strike out everybody I face,» said Yesavage, who is ranked by MLB Pipeline as Toronto's No. 1 prospect. «So, being able to start off the game on a hot note was definitely a boost in my confidence. It was cool. It was really cool.»

With that start, Yesavage (at 22 years and 88 days old) became the second-youngest Game 1 starting pitcher in World Series history, older than only Ralph Branca (21 years, 267 days in 1947).
Yesavage, who made just his seventh career start, period, in Game 1, began this season at Single-A Dunedin before advancing three more levels and eventually making his way to Toronto in September.
«I don't know,» Yesavage said when asked how far away Dunedin felt during Game 1. «Playing in front of 250 fans instead of whatever it was tonight is a little bit different.»

The scene will be no less tense in Game 5 for the Blue Jays, who could face a must-win scenario after dropping Games 2 and 3, the latter of which lasted for 18 innings and nearly seven hours.
Game 4's pitching matchup will pit Shane Bieber against Ohtani with Toronto looking to knot the Series at two games apiece.
Blake Snell, the Dodgers' Game 1 starter, will be back on the mound for Game 5
