With Spring Training less than two weeks away, 15 former Toronto Blue Jays remain unsigned on the free-agent market.

Five of those players appeared with the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2025 season.
The most notable name is Chris Bassitt, who posted a 3.96 ERA and a 4.01 FIP across 170.1 innings last year.
While his regular-season numbers were solid, Bassitt carved out a valuable high-leverage relief role during Toronto’s postseason run.
Max Scherzer was another key contributor in October, delivering a strong postseason performance.
Recent reports suggest the veteran is comfortable waiting until the right opportunity presents itself.
Chad Green, who was released by the club in August, logged just 43.2 innings in 2025 but surrendered 14 home runs — the third-most among MLB relievers, trailing only Jeff Hoffman. Given those struggles, it’s not surprising that Green still remains available.
Toronto also featured two position players in 2025 who are now free agents. The first is Isiah Kiner-Falefa who struggled offensively in both the regular season and the playoffs.
Ty France was acquired ahead of the trade deadline and delivered league-average production after arriving, hitting one home run in 103 plate appearances while posting a 92 wRC+.
Despite modest offensive numbers, France stood out defensively, becoming the lone Blue Jay to win a Gold Glove.

Some Blue Jays blasts from the past that still remain available in free agency

Two additional free agents that suited up for Toronto in 2024 are Justin Turner and Cavan Biggio.
Turner spent last season with the Chicago Cubs, slashing .219/.288/.314 with three home runs in 191 plate appearances.
He was dealt before the 2024 trade deadline in a move that netted Toronto RJ Schreck — a deal that has aged well.
Biggio, a long-time Blue Jay, was designated for assignment during the summer of 2024 and later traded to bring back Braydon Fisher, another transaction that worked in Toronto’s favor.
One of the more impactful trades in recent years saw the Blue Jays send Rowdy Tellez to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Trevor Richards and Bowden Francis.
Richards helped stabilize the bullpen late in the 2021 season, while Francis emerged as a key contributor during the stretch run of 2024.
Tellez, meanwhile, enjoyed a productive 2025 campaign split between the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers, slashing .228/.276/.443 with 17 home runs in 312 plate appearances.
Other former Blue Jays who appeared in at least one game during the 2025 season and are currently free agents include Marcus Stroman, Luke Maile, Gio Urshela, Jon Berti, Anthony DeSclafani, Liam Hendriks, and Kendall Graveman.
