Max Scherzer continues his push towards a return to the mound. Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Scherzer felt good after throwing a 33-pitch bullpen.

According to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson:
Max Scherzer threw a 33-pitch bullpen and everything felt good, John Schneider said. He'll throw off a mound another time or two before facing hitters.
As Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports, Scherzer was happy with the intensity of the side session and plans to throw again Thursday, Saturday and Monday ahead of live batting practice.
The setback is the latest in a slew of injuries for the former three-time Cy Young winner as he made a combined 17 starts in the two seasons before signing a one-year deal worth $15.5 million to join the Blue Jays.
Nick Sandin also threw in a bullpen session Tuesday and is likely going to throw a couple more side sessions before facing hitters.
Davidi also provied updates on Erik Swanson, Ryan Burr, Andres Gimenez and Kevin Gausman.
With bad weather possible for triple-A Buffalo tomorrow, Erik Swanson and Ryan Burr likely to make next rehab outings with A-ball Dunedin, said Schneider. Andres Gimenez did more running today, will probably need a rehab assignment. Kevin Gausman fine to start tomorrow.
Ben Nicholson-Smith reiterated what the aforementioned Matheson and Davidi shared.
Max Scherzer felt good after throwing a 33-pitch bullpen per John Schneider Sounds like Scherzer will likely throw off a mound a couple more times before facing hitters again and going on an eventual rehab assignment.
