Blue Jays vs Marlins: Starting Lineup - Opening Game Preview

2X All-Star Shane Bieber verses Marlins start Ryan Gusto. First pitch is at 7:10 PM ET on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.

Shane Bieber, the big right-hander acquired at the trade deadline from the Cleveland Guardians, will be making his Jays debut when he toes the rubber in «The Sunshine State».

Bieber has been on the shelf since last April, with the veteran hurler landing on the IL and eventually undergoing Tommy John surgery.

At the time of the trade, Bieber was beginning the rehab process in the Guardians' farm system and continued that trek once he landed with the Jays.

Tonight is his to show his new team what he is made of. Last night Bieber posted a heartfelt video on X showing what he has gone through and what to expect going forward. It's fantastic.

The Marlins are 60-67 overall and 29-33 in home games. The Marlins are 48-23 in games when they record eight or more hits.

The Blue Jays are 74-54 overall and 32-33 in road games. The Blue Jays have the top team on-base percentage in the AL at .337.

The matchup Friday is the first meeting of the season between the two clubs.
