Since May 28, 2024, there have been approximately 324 players who have had at least 200 plate appearances. Among those, Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is the only one not to hit a home run during that time.
Bichette hit four home runs in his injury-shortened season, the last of which came on May 27th.
Bo is the leading the league with 104 at-bats. Combine that with not homering in his last 31 games to end last year, and its been quite te drought for the two-time All-Star.
While Bichette has never been thought of as a power hitter - in the same vein as his longtime friend and teammate
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - he did hit 73 between 2021-2023, including a career high 29 homers in 2021.
While the lack of power overall is certainly a cause for concern for the
The Blue Jays, it's less of deal for Bo individually. He is still hovering around .300, with a .298 batting average.
Longtime Jays announcer Buck Martinez has often said that Bo hit 20 home runs by accident, and that his strength is getting on base. While he continues to do that a high-level, the Blue Jays would love to see Bo pop one or two over the fence.
Along with his .298 avg, his 162-game pace has him on track for 54 doubles, 88 RBIs, 14 stolen bases and a 3.4 WAR, all of which are relatively in line with his peak numbers. Without any home runs, though, the 27-year-old's OPS sits at .714.
The Jays currently in 29th place with 13 team home runs.
