Brendon Little injury update

Little looked to be in serious pain after recording two outs and throwing just eleven pitches. The Blue Jays eventually diagnosed him with a left lat cramp. Manager John Schneider later announced that Little did not need imaging, which is a positive development.
Little is one of two left-handers in the bullpen alongside Richard Lovelady.
The Blue Jays, who are already done Erik Swanson and Ryan Burr, can ill-afford to lose Little for any extended period of time. The southpaw became one of the most valuable and consistent members of an otherwise beleaguered bullpen last year, going 1-2 with a 3.74 ERA and one save in 49 games.
A key part of the 2025 pitching, Little figures to be utilized in the middle-to-late innings. If he does go down, fellow lefty Josh Walker would be the most logical choice to replace him.
After making his debut with the
Cubs late in 2022, the native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania was sent to the Blue Jays for cash in November of 2023. After initially being called in up in April of last year, he was sent down in May. He was recalled in June and ended up staying on the major league roster for the rest of the season.
2025 is the first time Little had made an opening day roster.
While Little and Blue Jays look to have avoided any serious injury for now, this is something that will no doubt be monitored over the next couple of days.
